HOW TO SET REMINDERS FOR YOUR SELF-CARE PRACTICES:

WITH A BUSY SCHEDULE

This is quite simple but sometimes we need it all laid out in front of us. Our minds can be so jam-packed with everything we need to do, so here are some reminders about how to set reminders!

Some Ways To Set Reminders:

  1. Planner - Use a planner that you look at everyday and write everything down in it.

Cross things out as you complete them.

  2. Alarms - Set alarms on your phone and rename them according to what you want to do. For example: Set an alarm for 1:11PM and name it “Breathe”. So, when that alarm goes off, you know to stop what you are doing, check your breathing, and apply some relaxing breathing techniques.

  3. Post-it Notes - Make sticky notes to help remind and motivate you to get your practice in. Place them in areas where you will see them a lot.

  4. Vision Board - Make a vision board. Cut out pictures and words from magazines, print out pictures, draw them, write them, and create an organized and cute vision board! Place this vision board in a room that you frequent the most, whether it is the office or even in your bedroom so it is the first thing you see when you wake up.

  5. Environment - Setting up your environment for success can help tremendously, too! You can pick out your outfit for the next day and set it aside before you go to sleep, get your workout equipment and clothes ready, and have designated areas for work, play, creativity, alone time, etc.

  6. Accountability - This one is super effective and fun! If there are goals that you and someone else would like to achieve, you can partner up together, motivate each other, and hold each other accountable.

    Some examples:

Both of you want to build muscle and the plan is to go to the gym together at least once a week and eat healthily.

Or if you want to read the same book, you can make or join a book club. ...and the list goes on!

Setting reminders is a great way to get you following through on the self-care practices you want (and probably need!) to incorporate. For some tips on HOW to implement the self-care practices you’re being reminded about, check out my previous blog post titled “Steps to Incorporate Self-Care Into a Busy Schedule”.

My intention is to get the message out that developing your self-care practices is of utmost importance in this stress-filled world, and to show you how easy it can be to implement them!

Remember to have fun and get creative!
