This is part of the year when time starts to stand still. The days grow darker and colder, and the veils between worlds begin to thin. We all can feel it in the air...that eerie feeling. To some it excites us, and to others it may bring anxiety. I have listed some of my favorite things to do during this time of the year. And some of these can definitely help with anxiety by adding more warmth and light.
Candle Light Night - plan nights where you use candle lights only
Connect with Fire - Bonfire/Fireplace with friends and family
Baking Party - you can do this with friends and family or by yourself. Bake all the seasonal favorites (pumpkins, squashes, apples, pears, oranges, persimmons, cinnamon, clove, star anise, nutmeg, and more!). Enjoy them with your friends, family, neighbors, or by yourself!
Cinnamon Broom Sweep - cleanse your home with a yummy smelling cinnamon broom with the intention of clearing out the old to bring in the new
Nurture Your Vessel - set out a day or night each week where you do an all day/night self-care routine. Dedicate that whole time for you! If you are busy with the kids, have them join in too!
Immerse in Nature - it's the perfect weather to be out all day in nature or at a park. Bring some blankets and cozy up on the Earth, go on a hike, play in the falling leaves, collect items and create a nature mandala or a nature journal!
Cozy Up - grab your blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals...and get all cozy while reading a book or watching some seasonal favorites!
Be a Kitchen Witch - create some tinctures, teas, essential oil sprays, and more with some seasonal ingredients
Be The Witch - yah, because why not?! Do some tarot/oracle readings for yourself and friends, do some spells to help you release during this time, travel between worlds (safely), connect to the spirits and ancestors, howl at the Moon
Altar - create or change up your altar to honor the season and what is most aligned with you during this time
I also love incorporating infrared lights to help with overall health. Let me know which ones you enjoy or anything you'd like to add to this list!
Happy Samhain, Halloween, Dia De Los Muertos!
